The Pearl Award.

The Pearl Award is given in memory of my aunt Pearl Stover. She was a true CareGiver in every sense of the word.Although she had no formal training, she provided care for abandoned children, her community, neighbors, family and friends. She devoted her entire life caring for others. She never asked"whats in it for me,what praise will i recieve,or how much does it pay".The majority of the time the care she provided went without financial reward.Being a caregiver my self i realize that the greatest reward that one can recieve is knowing that we cared for others and made a difference. The Pearl Award will be given annually each May.

The award represents outstanding caregiving skills and compassions for others.

Professionalism,Ethics,postive attitude,Responsibility and Leadership.

In loving memory of my aunt Pearl.

Margaret McCarrell

Am twenty-six years old and have lived in Norman since the age of nine. I have been with Caring Homemakers since July '07 and my experiences here have been priceless. After spending many days and nights in the hospital with my sister who underwent major surgery, I saw the caring nature of the nursing staff and saw the important work of caring for others. Shortly after that, I decided that my path in life was to get back to school and obtain a degree in nursing. I was very blessed to come in contact with Margaret and Caring Homemakers and have had the absolute joy of working with different clients and being a caregiver. Since being with the company, I have learned and gained many valuable skills to aid my continuing education and my future.
